Talent Show 06/06/2010
 
We are having a talent show in our class because some people will not be coming back to the same school. Some people are: Erin (moving to another country), Dom (moving to another country), me (changing schools. there are many more. To say good buy, we are going to make a talent show. I already signed up for a act with erin, I don't think its fair that ella gets to be in 3 singing acts. I am in a singing act, but not with her. We are planning to sing 'Take a bow' or 'My life would suck without you'. Do you have any ideas on what song we should sing? or do you have any ideas on anything else I should do for the talent show not including singing. Please comment your ideas. Thanx!

Concert/Singing:

What it shows: Confidence, independence, trust, cooperating.

Discription: The concert is, with no doubt, the best part of this school year. It showed trust, hard work, coporation, independents and confidence. But the best part of all, in the concert, that shows of all those thing that was just said is the trio/ solo. We, As in Dorothy, olivia, and I, Sang 'a whole new world'. To do this, it took (as was said) confidence, independence, trust, cooperation and hard work.
we where all very proud of what we did after. At the end of the concert, I lost my voice because I tried soo hard.

Story:

something else that was great to learn and do was the story, I put as much detail as I could in the story, here is an example:

in the house, there was a huge portrait of a woman in a white dress. the had a black bow at the back and feathers at the end of her dress.
“Is this Ester?” Li Hi asked.
“Yes little one, this is Ester.”
“She doesn’t look that happy, Timbora, why is that?” Li Hi asked again.


That little part shows how much detail I am trying to put in the story. I am crazy about making stories. When I think I have a good idea, I can never finish it. My stile is more complicated stories. I don't like kids stories that much.

UOI
For UOI I want to talk about the exhibition. The final presentation makes it look easy to make a exhibition presentation. But it is not as easy as it looks. As you may know, I had lots of troubles working with my group members. It was hard to decide wether to stay in the group or not. I decided to stay. At the end of lots of hard times, the final presentation was great. I figured that the process was the most important part of the exhibition to see how you work with a group.

CAMP

In camp I think I was a great risk taker. The hardest part to do was absailing. I almost cried because I didn't know what to do next when there was no hill left. I had to slide down on the rope slowly. I loved camping out. The one thing I did not like the most was the toilets. Squatie pottys are the worst! They are my worst fear! I really hate them.

RADIO SHOW.

The radio shows where a great learning experience. We learned a lot about how to do cool effects on garage band. we learned how to change voices, use it like a weather report and more. To start with, I was on my own. I then found out that it was hard to get people to talk in my radio show when they are doing their own radio show. Erin and clio where together and they were
nice enough to let me join their group. At that point there was one problem, I already put time and effort in my own radio show, how will we combine? When I saw their radio show, it was related. I helped them on their sound effects and they helped me with the talking in mine. We did mine in the same radio show because both of ours are about the same thing, Alien attack!
We decided to make mine called alien attack 2 and Erin's and clios will be called alien attack 1.  It turned out great. we had lot of fun making it. I could show you the radio show at home because it is over 10 minuets. if we listen to it now, it will take up almost half of the whole time i have to present.


TYPING

typing has been very useful in school work. Right now, its not very useful because i have burned my hand so i am only typing with on hand like i use to before i knew how to type. anyway, it makes school work much more quicker.

 I am writing a new story called 'BUSTED'. Here is a sneak peek on it!:


"Good morning sleepy head!" Mom said.
"Its your first day of school!" 
'Oh, right' I thought.
I some how fell asleep while mom was talking because she gave me a rattle and pulled off my sheets. 
"SAMANTHA! This is the last time I will  tell you! GET UP AND GOING! Its 7:40!" She hissed 
OH NO! I only have 10 minuets to get ready. Right then I hatched a plan. I only have one chance to do this, it better be good!
"mom?" I said in a Sore voice, "I feel dizzy, so very dizzy." I faked being sick for around 30 seconds till mom was convinced. 
"you poor thing!" She said with a sigh. "I was hoping we could go to watch your dad run and skip school but I guess now we can't. You better lie down on the couch and rest while watching T.V."

My mom said.

'SHOOT! I was going to skip school any way! Well just my luck!!!' I thought

Okay, first of all, I have to say 2 things:
First, I am so happy that it is over because there is no more stress.
Second, I am so sad that it is over because it will be hard to get back in the normal day like music and mandarin and math.

What we did well in the exhibition is the presentation. I thought our presentation was REALLY eye catching and if you where to see our stand, you would think it is a fun stand to go to. We had fake grass, real plants and green table cloth. Our poster was tiny compare to the wall that we had but I think it was great.

As an individual, I think I did well in presenting these three things:
What?
Why?
How?
I did well on those because I was very confident that I did a good job in explaining 'What we where doing', 'Why we where doing that' and 'How we are going to help'.  People asked me some questions that I didn't think that they would ask me, like "Why do people do dog poisoning?" I did not know the answer, so I thought into the question:
"Why do people do dog poisoning?"
People and dogs....
Well maybe because some people would like to kill off the wild dogs! Maybe there is too much to handle!

I think I could have done better in handling group problems. There was lots of problems in our group and I didn't take action soon enough so there was nothing much we could have done to help. I was to afraid to tell the teacher because I as scared that my friend will hate me more if I get them in trouble, so I didn't tell the teacher in time.

What now? 05/12/2010
 
We have gone through the day without dieing! HORAY! I still think that some more people will be coming. I'm not really sure. Our group has done a good job. Each grade that came, we marked our self with these letters:
G= great
M= middle
A= awful

So far we got all M's. I'm hoping we will do better soon or tomorrow. Now we have to make this blog post and do some more things for extra things for the later groups of people. I hope we do better when my parents come!
